By working on the tenant that we are all unique, we know that no one protocol will help everyone, we dig deep into your health history, we ask the questions that no one else is asking, we help you to connect the dots. WHAT IS functional nutrition?
Functional nutrition is a shift away from quick fixes and pills to focusing on and understanding the individual in front of us. This way of practicing is different from anything you have tried before. We connect the dots so you gain a better understanding of yourself.
HOW DOES A HOLISTIC NUTRITIONIST DIFFER FROM A REGISTERED DIETICIAN?
A holistic nutritionist studies the same basic science as Dietitians, but we follow a different school of thought on how to approach health and healing. We have gone to schools with holistic based programs where the education centers around finding out why you are not feeling well and we work with you to enhance your quality of life. We use food therapeutically to help you heal and stress the use of whole, organic, chemical free foods that are high quality and meant to build health. We use our sessions to educate you on how to make better choices to regain your health. What you eat creates your cells, so if you are eating high quality food and using high quality supplements, you will have high quality cells that are building your foundation for health! Many holistic nutritionists work alongside doctors, chiropractors, acupuncturists and other health care practitioners. Some holistic nutritionists like myself, go the extra mile and become board certified in holistic nutrition®.
A registered dietician has earned a degree in dietetics and learns a curriculum that is approved by the academy of nutrition and dietetics (and) which was formerly the american dietetic association (ada). They are licensed and regulated by the government. They practice medical nutrition therapy which means they use the usda guidelines that are based on recommended daily allowances which does not allow for personalization. They also use food, but the quality is not always stressed and they typically follow the usda myplate model. Most often registered dieticians work in hospitals, schools and government.
Holistic nutrition is typically sought after western medicine has failed.

What our Clients are saying...
Too many people do not realize or understand the benefits of working with a nutritionist. There is no other resource that could have guided me like Kerri has. We were able to recognize and address my nutrient deficiencies and my food sensitivities. I will continue to work with Kerri, I completely trust her knowledge and competence. |
Kerri has taught me so much! We drew in depth bloodwork for micronutrient deficiencies and I was able to actually cut out many of the supplements I was taking because it showed I didn't need them. She also gave me the knowledge to expand on my vegetarian diet. I highly recommend Kerri! |
I was diagnosed with arthritis, the traditional medications made me feel worse and I tried to make changes myself with no success. Kerri helped me navigate the confusing world of lab tests, deficiencies, symptoms and how food will impact my body. She gave me control over my own well being. Kerri has been instrumental in guiding me in my path to well being and I will be forever grateful! |
